About Uisce Éireann

Uisce Éireann is Ireland’s national, regulated water utility, responsible every day for providing secure, safe and sustainable water and wastewater services to communities and businesses across the country.

To meet Ireland’s current and future needs, Uisce Éireann has secured €12.2 billion in vital investment in water and wastewater infrastructure to 2030. This investment will be delivered through our proposed Capital Investment Plan 2025–2029 — a five‑year, regulated funding programme focused on priority projects where investment is most urgently required.

The plan supports compliance with Ireland’s legal and regulatory obligations, enables wider Government objectives on housing and climate action, and underpins sustainable economic growth at both national and local level. It will also support the delivery of additional water and wastewater capacity, and future‑proofed infrastructure, needed to meet the Government’s revised target of 300,000 new homes by 2030.

Central to Uisce Éireann’s long‑term strategy is the delivery of landmark, once‑in‑a‑generation infrastructure. In the Eastern and Midlands Region, this includes the Water Supply Project and the Greater Dublin Drainage Project — both critical to unlocking housing capacity, ensuring environmental compliance and supporting sustainable growth.
