Ed has been working in manufacturing and engineering for most of his career. In 2012 he became Managing Director of the Galco Group, Ireland’s largest Hot Dip Galvanizing provider.
Ed is also a board member of the European General Galvanizers Association (EGGA) and of IBEC’s Engineering Industries Trade Association. He is also the current Chair of IBEC’s Medtech and Engineering Sustainability Working Group.
Under his direction, Galco are focused on helping build Ireland’s Sustainable future by delivering a durable, circular product while at the same time reducing their carbon footprint through process innovation.
This journey commenced in 2021 with the development of Galco’s Responsible Business Framework and Carbon Transition Plan, with a goal of achieving a 37% reduction in carbon emissions while also ensuring a safe working environment that recognises the value of all their people.
