David was appointed by the Government as a Director of the Environmental Protection Agency in October 2023. He is on the board of the EPA and leads its Office of Environmental Sustainability which has responsibility for carbon emissions trading, environmental licensing, and the circular economy programme. With over twenty years of experience in environmental protection, David has held various roles including as the Principal Adviser for Water at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage as well as previously working with the EPA and in private sector consultancy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, a Master of Science, and an MBA from UCD Smurfit.
