Vanessa O’Connell

This Phase 1 offshore wind farm has a capacity of up to 824MW and has secured a route to market through the ORESS 1 contract. Prior to RWE, Vanessa was Head of Inis Offshore Wind with responsibility for development of 6 offshore wind farms at early-stage development in Ireland. Having spent over 10 years with Ørsted, Vanessa has extensive experience in the offshore wind sector, encompassing 6 offshore projects. Vanessa has worked across all stages of the offshore wind cycle, from early-stage development through project construction and operations including Head of Asset Management for Hornsea 1, the largest operational offshore wind farm in the world. She holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College and a BA in Economics from Trinity College Dublin. Living close to the Dublin Array project, Vanessa is particularly passionate about working on Dublin Array and working with the team to ensure it serves the community whilst also supporting Ireland’s decarbonisation journey.
